I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn’t, than live my life as if there isn’t, and die to find out there is!

Am I REALLY saved?

How can we absolutely know that we are saved?

We can have absolute assurance because God has told us we are saved. If we have taken the steps necessary to receive God's gracious gift of salvation; that is if we have confessed that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and asked Him to take over our life, and did so with a sincere heart, WE ARE SAVED. 1 John 2:5 says: "But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him."  And Romans 8:16 says: "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 1 John 3:14 says: "We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death."  These are but a few of the many Scriptures pointing us to assurance of salvation. It is clear that God's desire is we be confident that we are saved and will spend eternity with Him. Therefore, anyone who is a Christian in the true sense should have absolute confidence of his or her salvation, for that is God's desire.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life: he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  I write these to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.  1 John 5:11-13
